Juuso, pronounced: I told “you so”
Juuso is an multiple award-winning creative strategist with experience in almost all aspects of the agency business. He co-founded advertising and marketing agency Staart in 2001 and has since been working for it in different roles, spanning from graphical design to creative direction. So, no long and fancy CVs here.
He is known for out-of-the-box creative ideas like Eau De Pori, a fragrance built from the real aromas of the city, and The Offline article, an online article that can only be viewed by going offline.
From a strategic point of view, Juuso likes to build brand platforms that are based on real human insights, like "You are a part of something bigger" for Finland's national public broadcasting company Yle. He is a big believer of co-creation: The best example of this approach is the data-driven rebranding of the city of Pori. See all the work here.
In 2017 Juuso co-founded Hubble, an agile software development company focusing on the creative use of AI. For Hubble, Juuso developed the "Brand based programming" model to bring brand-thinking to the heart of software development. The development of the Brand based programming model was supported by Business Finland.
Besides branding and advertising work, Juuso has his own podcast, Mainosradio (only in Finnish, learn Finnish here) and has given several keynotes about branding, digitalization, and creativity. As a wannabe rockstar, he has been in bands since the early nineties without any mundane success. Juuso is a fanatic fan of Finnish baseball, supporting he's home team Kankaanpään Maila: "Maila juoksun toi, ei vastustajat mitään voi!"
